A simple dump of life lessons I’ve picked up through my lifetime (the list will keep growing for as long as I’m alive and kickin’):

  1. Life is for living.
  2. Be punctual.
  3. You should indeed start — the rest will fall into place when it does.
  4. One must/should love whole-heartedly.
  5. Never stop learning (books or practicing your craft).
  6. Try to do your best at all times.
  7. Time spent with family is time well invested.
  8. Truthfulness is the real mark of integrity.
  9. “Truth has no special time of its own. Its hour is now — always.” — Albert Schweitzer
  10. Forgiveness is essential.

You most likely ended here because you were frustrated by your Internet Service Provider, Telkom in South Africa. Waking up to find many of your connection ports but blocked as well as other protocols (UDP, TCP, SSH and an FTP that initiates but gets a time out) is not fun.

Furthermore, having Google asks every now and then if you are a robot can also quickly become annoying.

Luckily, there is a workaround and it’s very simple, simply follow the steps below:

  1. The first step is to log in to your Telkom Router:

“What keeps me motivated?

Well, in short…I’m here (raises one hand), all of my dreams and aspirations are here (raises the other), and the only thing in between these two points is a bunch of work.

So, tackling that work is a way of moving this needle (the distance between himself & his dreams).

That’s all the motivation I need. I love progress, in any manifestation. I’ve never struggled with motivation…ever.”

His government, Mbeki said in his victory speech Thursday, will “approach the exercise of power without any arrogance, with humility.”

If Nelson Mandela is the George Washington of this new democracy, the kind of giant among men who turns down offers to be king, then Mbeki is its John Adams. Like Adams, he is small, sharply intelligent, visionary, reflective, sometimes tart-tongued, and an adept back-room fighter.

He is also, on any occasion, the man most likely to turn up too formally dressed.

Playing on their difference in raiment, the dapper Mbeki, 56, has mused publicly on his resentment of people…

The Porsche 911 is without a doubt one of the most iconic high-performance rear-engined sports cars. Introduced in September 1964 by Porsche AG of Stuttgart, Germany, the 911 has grown to win the hearts of many sports car enthusiasts all over the globe.

The 911 is currently in its eighth generation, called the 992, which replaces the 991 generation. Some individuals find it very difficult to differentiate between the various 911 models.

A very close friend of mine says he can only differentiate the 911 Targa from the rest of the Porsche 911 range. …

I have had this issue a few times, especially after switching monitors and fiddling around with the display.

This solutions serves as my reference and also hopefully as a reference for anyone else struggling to find a solution online.

How to resolve the issue:

  • Hold “Alt” + “Space”
  • Choose move from the popup menu
  • And then use your mouse cursor to move the window
  • Close FileZilla and reopen it. It will now open in the last position it was saved.

I have been seeing a growing trend from most recruiters posting jobs on well-known job sites such as LinkedIn, Pnet, etc. It’s all well and nice to have your “own” website or application where candidates’ harvested data lives, however, the honest truth is that signing up to any website is a very huge commitment to most candidates.

Recruitment websites ask for way more personal information that most people are willing to give out on their first dates – so, this is definitely a big problem. …

I have been struggling with using the internet install for a few days due to my current unreliable ISP (internet service provider), rain — SA’s mobile data-only network | Fast, affordable internet. There is nothing reliable and fast about their service/s.

The installation kept timing out due to the connectivity issues, so I eventually decided to down the installation image and create a bootable UBS drive to use for the installation. Downloading the images/dmg was not an easy task, at least in my experience. I couldn’t find the images/dmg anywhere in the AppStore (I only found updates and not the…

If you are one of the unfortunate users who don’t have fibre broadband or can’t afford fibre and are stuck with the next best thing, Telkom LTE, you’re possibly struggling with slow connectivity speeds at the moment due to some cable or whatever Telkom is feeding you. I don’t know.

What I know is there is a workaround the slow connectivity, you simply need to follow the following simple steps:

Get your router IP address

The default IP address usually is, or
If none of the above IP addresses work, quickly follow these four steps to get your IP address:

  1. Go to…

I grew up in South Africa and I had my first cellphone at the age of thirteen. It was a handed down Philips Diga cellphone from my mother. Although it was expensive to have a cellphone then, I was happy to finally be connected. You were charged to keep your cellphone connected and prepaid vouchers didn’t last much longer.

The cellphone was network locked to Vodacom, so by default I had to adopt the network. They had better coverage then and they have always had the money to go big in advertising. I used Vodacom throughout high school, tertiary and…
